On Sunday, September 29, starting at 12:00, we are waiting for you in Peștișani (Nucet Area) at the most important gastronomic festival of autumn - Sarmalelor si Piftiior Festival "In memoriam Radu Ciobanu"!
We will start with the gastronomic contest where the best sarmals and piftii will be analysed, measured and especially tasted, because it is the custom in Gorj to serve the piftii (chills) together with the hot sarmalulets and not separately like in many other areas from the country. Here, dear guests from everywhere, you will have the opportunity to get to know a unique custom from the Gorju area.
Both chefs from the hospitality industry and skilled housewives from all over Gorju will participate in the competition, who will want to be proud of their chosen dishes.
For children we will prepare many creative workshops so that their imagination will be put to the test.
We will also have some popular craftsmen with us so that if you want to go home with a clay pot full of charms or even just a small pot, you can do it.
There will be a lot of traditional food - in addition to sarmale and pifti, the guest chefs will also be waiting for you with mutton stew, smoked beans, pork alms, roast beef and other traditional Romanian dishes.
In the evening we are waiting for you with a special artistic program in which we will combine authentic Romanian folklore with quality light music!
We will return with details opposite the artistic program!

The festival is organized by the Gorj County Council, the City Hall and the Peștişani Local Council, the Professional Artistic Ensemble "Doina Gorjului", the Association "Acasă la Brâncusi"!
