Discover the mastery of Saxon architecture in the heart of Transylvania, in Saschiz, one of the villages that even stole the heart of King Charles. Here, each traditional household represents a true gem, keeping alive the history and identity of the community.
You will discover the rigorous urban planning specific to the Saxons, from the linear organization of the streets around the citadel to the arrangement of each household in the shape of an elongated rectangle, with the short side facing the street. Each settlement will inspire you with a love for stability and beauty. Extending from each house, you will find the barn for agricultural tools along with the barn, which separates the courtyard from the garden.
Here, history and culture blend in a unique way. The Saxon community brought not only distinctive architecture to this place but also rich traditions and craftsmanship, among which pottery stands out. Saschiz ceramics incorporate natural elements - plants, flowers, animals - painted in intense blue on ceramic objects.
Located at the border between the past, present, and future, the village will charm you with everything it holds dear, and above all, with the feeling of tranquility and peace of a community united by the same values.
