About

After a summer of hard work, it's time to heat up the kettles and gather with all our family and friends for a tasty event. We invite you on October 12 to enjoy good food and nature at the "Goulash Race", the second edition, at the Cobor Biodiversity Farm. Hosts, passionate chefs and good people will form eight teams, and they will compete by cooking goulash from Sura de steppe meat, a high-quality organic product that you can't find anywhere else, produced on our farm.

The task of voting for the best goulash will fall to the members of the jury, whom we will announce shortly. Participants will be able to enjoy goulash in peace, in a fairytale autumn landscape. In the afternoon, the children will compete in a household chores competition on the "Childhood Street" - they will arrange wood, pick the beans and prove that they too are worthy of carrying on the traditions of the village. There will also be culinary workshops, where everyone will learn about the secrets of traditional cuisine.

* The price of each ticket includes two portions of goulash per person.

Participation conditions for goulash cooking teams:

📌 Teams consisting of a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 people, who have turned 18 at the time of the start of the "Goulash Competition", can participate. Registration and participation of teams in the competition is free.
📌 Each person from the teams registered in the cooking competition will, on the morning of the event, compulsorily present a certificate from the family doctor (or specialist doctor), attesting to the fact that they are fit to prepare, cook and serve food.
📌 It is necessary to demonstrate the provenance of the ingredients and products used (except for the Sura de steppe meat that will be offered by the organizers), their quality by presenting the certificate of provenance, the declaration of conformity, invoice, tax receipt and/or copy of veterinary certificate .

The three tastiest goulash will be evaluated by a jury.
1st place: one night at the Comisu wildlife observatory
Second place: one night at Cobor
Third place: Lunch and farm tour

About Cobor Biodiversity Farm
The Conservation Carpathia Foundation is developing in the village of Cobor, Brașov County, a biodiversity conservation and sustainable management of pastures project, while also promoting eco-tourism within the households it brought back to life, in a restoration process that respected the architecture local. The farm is a green business that keeps a small village alive and proves that there is development through conservation.
