Charity trail running competition

Heritage Run Biertan is a competition for those who are passionate about running who want to get involved, through their simple participation, in the efforts to preserve historical monuments.

With proposed races between 7 and 22 km, the competition is open to all categories of outdoor runners. The route between the four fortified churches is a varied one with large stretches of forest in the hilly area of ​​Târnavelo. We will run on country roads, narrow paths marked by Via Transilvanica, Colinele Transilvaniei and Mediaș Bike Marathon, but also through the courtyards of the fortified churches themselves, starting with the one in Biertan, which is on the UNESCO heritage list. The competition is organized by the My Transylvania Association and the Fortified Churches Foundation.

1. Sprint: 7 km / Biertan-Copșa Mare-Biertan / + 90 m elevation difference
2. Cross: 10 km / Biertan-Dupuș-Biertan / + 225 m elevation difference
3. Half-marathon: 22 km / Biertan-Richiș-Biertan / + 625 m elevation difference

4. Kids race: 1 km / Biertan Fortified Church / + 30 m elevation difference

The registration fee includes a donation to the Fortified Churches Foundation in the amount of EUR 5/adult in order to support the care of historical monuments. In 2025 this donation will finance an emergency intervention on the roof of the church in Dupuș (Tobsdorf).
