About
We invite you to the symphony of time in Brașov Citadel!
Early music, with its rich texture and multiple layers of meaning, is a living testimony to the cultural and artistic evolution of mankind. The Old Music Festival, in its first edition, will take place in Brașov between 17-28 September 2024 with the aim of offering the public the unique opportunity to explore musical diversity in a special historical setting.
This event is not just a simple music festival, but a true journey through time through authentic sounds and performances. The varied program that includes concerts, masterclasses, workshops and conferences brings together musical traditions from different eras and areas, emphasizing the importance of intercultural dialogue and artistic education.
In this context, the Brașov Early Music Festival brings to the foreground the musical heritage of the past, exploring not only well-known genres, such as baroque and renaissance music, but also less visible traditions, such as Byzantine, old Romanian and Sephardic music. This initiative not only celebrates cultural heritage, but also promotes intercultural dialogue and artistic education, inviting the public to actively participate in a unique artistic experience.
In addition to concerts, the festival program includes masterclasses and conferences held by experts in the field. These sessions are designed to introduce the audience to the performance techniques, historical instruments and musical styles specific to each era. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with the artists, learn from their experiences, and gain a deeper understanding of the refined spirit and genres of early music.
